The 3M 7010329243 is a Scotch-Brite EXL Unitized Wheel designed for smoothing, deburring, and finishing operations on metal alloys, plastics, and composites. The wheel uses an aluminum oxide abrasive mineral in a soft, conformable unitized construction that keeps the abrasive in consistent contact with the workpiece surface. At 3 inches in diameter with a 1/4 inch arbor, it mounts to standard die grinders, bench grinders, and rotary tools used in fabrication and finishing shops. The layered construction minimizes heat buildup, which reduces the risk of surface damage on heat-sensitive materials. Metalworkers, fabricators, and maintenance techs are the typical users for this type of wheel.
This wheel is suited for edge deburring, surface finishing, and light polishing across a range of shop and production applications. It performs on ferrous and non-ferrous metal alloys as well as many plastics and composites. The small diameter makes it practical for detail work, tight geometries, and robotic or automated finishing cells where conformability to complex part shapes is required. It is sold individually and is a direct consumable replacement for standard unitized wheel setups on portable rotary equipment.
Designed for use on die grinders, bench grinders, and rotary finishing equipment accepting a 1/4 inch arbor. Suitable for finishing and deburring applications on metal alloys, plastics, and composites.
Installation should be performed by a qualified metalworker or maintenance technician familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Confirm that the spindle speed of the host tool does not exceed the maximum rated RPM marked on the wheel before mounting. Inspect the wheel for damage before each use and do not use a cracked or visibly damaged wheel. Always use appropriate eye and face protection when operating abrasive wheels, in accordance with applicable ANSI abrasive wheel safety standards.
