The 3M 7010329113 Scotch-Brite HS-DC High Strength Disc is a non-woven, open-web abrasive disc engineered for general-purpose surface finishing in metal fabrication and finishing operations. Built on a durable, tough web construction using aluminum oxide (AO) abrasive mineral, the disc runs at up to 1900 RPM and delivers consistent cutting action throughout its service life. At 12 inches in diameter, it suits bench-mounted finishing machines and right-angle disc tools common in industrial and fabrication shops. The open-web structure resists loading and runs cool, protecting workpiece surfaces while maintaining a steady cut rate. Trade professionals use it for deburring, denibing, defuzzing, and achieving uniform satin finishes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
This disc is suited for metal fabrication shops, production finishing lines, and maintenance operations where consistent surface conditioning is required. Its conformable construction follows contours and edges, making it effective on flat stock, formed parts, and weldments. The wear-resistant edge contributes to extended disc life even under heavy-duty cycling. Multiple discs can be stacked on compatible arbors to increase working width or surface coverage in a single pass, reducing setup time on larger workpieces. Fine grade abrasive makes it appropriate for finish passes rather than aggressive material removal.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production disc for non-woven abrasive disc finishing machines and right-angle tools that accept 12 inch non-woven discs rated at or below 1900 RPM.
Mounting and replacement should be performed by personnel familiar with abrasive disc equipment and applicable ANSI B7 safety standards for abrasive products. Always power down and de-energize the finishing machine before changing discs, and confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the disc rated maximum of 1900 RPM. Inspect the disc for damage before mounting, and ensure the backing plate and retaining hardware are rated for the disc diameter. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves during installation and operation.
