The 3M 7010329062 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt is a nonwoven abrasive belt engineered for precision surface work on a variety of metals. Built on a reinforced scrim backing with an open-web nonwoven construction and aluminum oxide (AO) resin bond, the belt runs cooler than coated abrasives, resisting loading and heat buildup to deliver consistent results over extended use. At 21 inches long and 1 inch wide, it is sized for narrow-belt machines and detail finishing applications. Fabricators, metalworkers, and finishing technicians rely on this belt for blending, deburring, and controlled surface conditioning where surface integrity matters.
This belt is suited for residential and commercial metal fabrication environments, stainless steel finishing lines, and general shop use. It handles detail work including blending corners, deburring edges, contour finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, and achieving straightline-brushed finishes. Its conformability makes it effective for contact with complex-shaped parts, including robotic or automated processing setups where consistent abrasive contact is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use belt for narrow-belt surface conditioning machines accepting a 21-inch by 1-inch abrasive belt.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified operator following the machine manufacturer's belt-tensioning and tracking procedures. Power down and lock out the belt machine before mounting or removing the belt. Inspect the belt for tears or delamination before each use, and never exceed the maximum operating speed rated for the machine and belt combination.
