The 3M 7010329042 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt is a nonwoven abrasive belt designed for surface finishing, blending, deburring, and cleaning operations on metal workpieces. Constructed with an aluminum oxide abrasive grain bonded in resin to an open-web nonwoven material with reinforced scrim backing, the belt measures 84 inches in length and 4 inches in width. It is suited for use on robotic finishing lines, automated belt grinders, and manual backstand equipment. Metalworking fabricators and finishing technicians install and operate this belt in production and job-shop settings where consistent, repeatable surface results are required.
This belt is used across a wide range of metal finishing applications including blending welds, finishing stainless steel, deburring edges, contour finishing, and producing straightline-brushed surface appearances. The open-web nonwoven construction reduces loading and heat buildup, which supports extended run time and uniform results across production runs. It is appropriate for both flat and complex-contoured workpieces in light industrial environments where surface conditioning rather than aggressive material removal is the objective.
Designed for use on belt finishing machines and backstand grinders that accept an 84-inch by 4-inch belt. Suitable for surface conditioning operations on a variety of metals including stainless steel and other common fabricated metals.
This belt is installed and serviced by metalworking technicians and finishing equipment operators. Power down and lock out the finishing machine before installing or removing the belt. Verify that the belt tracking and tension are set to the equipment manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or damage before each use and replace if the backing or nonwoven web shows signs of degradation.
