The 3M 7010329007 is a nonwoven aluminum oxide unmounted flap wheel designed for surface conditioning, blending, and finishing on metal, wood, and composite substrates. The wheel measures 8 inches in outside diameter with a 1-inch face width and a 4-inch center hole for arbor mounting. Running at a maximum of 4,000 RPM, it delivers consistent medium-grade cut and surface finish across flat and contoured workpieces. With a flap density rating of 5, the wheel maintains surface contact through the cut and resists loading. This product is sold individually and installed by metalworkers, fabricators, and finishing technicians.
This flap wheel is suited for deburring, blending weld seams, and surface prep on production and maintenance applications. The nonwoven construction with aluminum oxide abrasive conforms to irregular surfaces and provides a more uniform finish than bonded abrasive alternatives. It is appropriate for use on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and fits standard arbor-style flap wheel fixtures in stationary and bench-mounted configurations.
Designed for use with standard arbor-mounted flap wheel spindle fixtures that accept a 4-inch center hole and accommodate an 8-inch diameter wheel. Verify spindle RPM rating meets or exceeds 4,000 RPM before mounting.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with abrasive wheel mounting procedures. Power down and lock out the equipment before mounting or removing the wheel. Confirm the spindle speed does not exceed the 4,000 RPM maximum rating stamped on the wheel before operation. Inspect the wheel for damage before each use and do not use a wheel that shows signs of tearing, delamination, or distortion.
