The 3M 7010328968 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt is a nonwoven abrasive belt built for detail finishing work across a range of metal surfaces. It measures 19 inches in length and 2 inches in width, with an aluminum oxide grain bonded in a resin system and mounted on a scrim-reinforced backing. Licensed tradespeople and metal fabricators use it for blending, deburring, fine finishing, and producing straightline-brushed or stainless steel finishes. The open nonwoven web design limits heat buildup and loading, which extends usable belt life and delivers consistent conditioning results throughout the run.
This belt is suited for surface conditioning tasks in metal fabrication, welding shops, and maintenance environments. Typical applications include blending weld seams, removing grind lines and mill marks, deburring edges, and contour finishing on complex-shaped parts. The flexible, conformable construction allows the abrasive to maintain contact with irregular profiles, making it practical for both flat work and detailed edge work on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and similar metals.
Designed for use on belt finishing machines and inline sanders accepting 2 inch by 19 inch surface conditioning belts. Compatible with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other common metals requiring surface conditioning or finishing.
Installation and belt changes should be performed by a qualified operator with the machine powered off and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm belt tracking and tension before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or delamination prior to each use and do not exceed the maximum speed rating of the machine or belt. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when handling abrasive belts.
