The 3M 7010328755 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt is a nonwoven abrasive belt designed for metalworking detail tasks including blending, deburring, contour finishing, flat finishing, and attaining straightline-brushed finishes. Constructed with an aluminum oxide (AO) mineral bonded with resin onto a scrim-reinforced open web backing, the belt resists loading and minimizes heat buildup during extended runs. At 72 inches long and 1 inch wide, it fits belt grinders and finishing machines used in fabrication, maintenance, and production environments. Metalworkers, fabricators, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers and operators.
This belt is suited for use on a variety of metals including stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. The open nonwoven web conforms to complex contours and edges, making it effective for both flat surface finishing and detail work on irregular part geometry. It is commonly used in robotic processing lines as well as manual bench and floor-stand belt grinder setups. Typical applications include removing grind lines, mill marks, and surface imperfections, as well as setting grain finishes on stainless steel components.

Installation should be performed by a qualified metalworking or maintenance technician. Power down and lock out the belt grinder before changing belts, following OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Always inspect the belt for tears or damage prior to use and operate within the rated speed of the machine.
