The 3M 7010328727 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt is a nonwoven abrasive belt designed for detail finishing, blending, deburring, and surface conditioning work on metal. Built with an aluminum oxide grain bonded in resin over an open nonwoven web with a reinforced scrim backing, this belt measures 60 inches long by 1 inch wide. It is intended for use with narrow belt sanders and robotic or automated finishing systems in industrial and fabrication environments. Licensed trades and metalworking professionals rely on it for consistent, repeatable surface finishes across a range of metal substrates.
This belt is suited for applications including blending weld seams, cleaning and conditioning stainless steel, deburring cut edges, setting grain patterns, and achieving straight-line brushed or fine finishes on flat and contoured metal surfaces. The open nonwoven web structure reduces loading and heat buildup, which extends belt life during sustained finishing runs. It performs on carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other common fabrication metals.
Designed for use on narrow belt sanders and automated finishing equipment that accept a 60-inch by 1-inch belt. Suitable for surface conditioning operations on carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other metal substrates.
Installation should be performed by qualified metalworking or fabrication personnel familiar with belt sander equipment. Ensure the machine is powered off and unplugged before mounting or removing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the equipment manufacturer guidelines before resuming operation. Eye protection and appropriate respiratory PPE should be worn during use, as nonwoven abrasive belts generate fine particulate.
