The 3M 7010328653 is a Trizact 217EA coated abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing applications. It uses proprietary microreplication technology in which micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into precise pyramidal structures and bonded to a JE-weight rayon cloth backing. As the pyramids wear during use, fresh sharp mineral is continuously exposed, producing a consistent cut rate and a predictable fine finish from start to finish. The belt measures 132 inches in length and 3 inches in width. It is installed and operated by metalworking and fabrication professionals on stationary and handheld belt grinding equipment.
This belt is suited for intermediate finishing and fine polishing prior to plating or buffing operations on metal workpieces. Its flexible JE-weight rayon backing conforms to contoured and irregular surfaces, making it well suited for finishing complex profiles. The consistent cut and long abrasive life also make this belt a practical choice for robotic and automated grinding and finishing cells where repeatable results and reduced belt change intervals are priorities. It performs best under light contact pressure, allowing the abrasive structure to break down gradually and maintain a controlled cut throughout the belt's service life.
Designed for use on belt grinding and finishing machines that accept 132-inch by 3-inch abrasive belts across metalworking and fabrication applications.
Installation should be performed by qualified metalworking or fabrication personnel following the machine manufacturer's belt-tensioning and tracking procedures. Power down and lockout the belt grinder before installing or removing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage prior to each use and replace immediately if damage is found.
