The 3M 7010328599 is a coated abrasive belt designed for demanding stock removal and metal finishing applications. It uses a blend of ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide that cuts faster and lasts longer than traditional aluminum oxide abrasives. The heavyweight polyester backing handles high-pressure grinding and can be run dry or with a lubricant. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup during operation, making this belt well suited for stainless steel and other heat-sensitive metals. Licensed tradespeople in fabrication, welding, and metalworking shops are the primary installers and users of this product.
This abrasive belt is built for high-volume metal grinding and finishing work in both shop and industrial environments. The 168-inch length and 6-inch width fit wide-belt grinders and large belt sanders commonly used in fabrication facilities. The P120 grit rating positions it for intermediate finishing work — aggressive enough for stock removal, refined enough for surface prep before final finishing stages. It performs on ferrous and non-ferrous metals alike and is particularly effective on stainless steel where heat control is critical.
Designed for use on wide-belt grinders and large-format belt sanders that accept a 168-inch by 6-inch abrasive belt in industrial and fabrication shop settings.
Belt installation and replacement should be performed by qualified shop personnel following the equipment manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the grinder before removing or installing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension per the machine specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage before each use.
