The 3M 7010328237 is a Trizact 237AA coated abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing in demanding industrial applications. It uses 3M microreplication technology, where micron-graded aluminum oxide mineral is formed into three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to an X-weight cloth backing. As the pyramids wear, fresh sharp mineral is continuously exposed, delivering a consistent cut rate and predictable surface finish throughout the belt's life. At 132 inches long and 4 inches wide, it fits wide-belt and drum-style finishing machines used in metalworking and fabrication environments. Installation and operation are typically handled by grinding and finishing technicians or machining professionals.
This belt is used in robotic and automated belt-finishing systems as well as manual wide-belt machines. It is suited for intermediate finishing and fine polishing of metal components prior to electroplating, buffing, or coating operations. The flexible cloth backing conforms to contoured surfaces, making it effective on complex geometries. It produces finer surface finishes than conventionally electrostatically coated abrasive belts, which is critical in high-tolerance polishing stages.
Designed for use on wide-belt, drum-style, and robotic belt-finishing machines that accept a 132-inch by 4-inch abrasive belt configuration. Verify machine contact wheel hardness and platen type are appropriate for the target surface finish before installation.
Installation should be performed by qualified grinding or finishing technicians familiar with belt-finishing equipment. Power down and lock out the machine before changing the belt. Confirm belt tracking and tension settings per the equipment manufacturer's guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the contact wheel and platen for wear or damage that could affect finish consistency or belt life.
