The 3M 7010328219 is a Trizact 407EA cloth abrasive belt designed for light-pressure dimensioning and finishing on metal substrates. The belt uses a silicon carbide abrasive mineral bonded to a cloth backing and incorporates a grinding aid that helps lower operating temperatures during use. This reduces the risk of heat-induced discoloration on sensitive metals, including titanium. At 132 inches long and 2 inches wide, it is sized for stroke sanders and platen sanders commonly used in precision metalworking environments. Licensed tradespeople and finishing specialists in aerospace, orthopedic device manufacturing, and plating operations are the primary installers and end users.
This belt is well suited for blending and polishing operations on titanium, stainless steel, and other metal substrates where surface finish consistency is critical. Typical applications include aerospace component finishing, orthopedic implant and surgical instrument manufacturing, and plating and polishing production lines. Its low-to-medium pressure design makes it appropriate for stroke and platen sander setups where controlled stock removal and fine surface finish are required simultaneously.
Designed for use on stroke sanders and platen sanders. Suitable for finishing titanium, stainless steel, and other metal substrates requiring light-pressure blending and polishing. Compatible with applications in aerospace, orthopedic implant, surgical instrument, and plating and polishing industries.
Belt installation and replacement should be performed by trained finishing technicians following equipment lockout and tagout procedures before servicing the sander. Verify belt tracking and tension per the sander manufacturer guidelines before resuming operation. Confirm the belt direction of travel arrow aligns with sander rotation to avoid premature joint failure. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when handling abrasive belts.
