The 3M 7010327793 is a coated abrasive belt from the Cubitron II 967F series, built for high-pressure grinding on carbon steel, nickel alloys, tool steels, and titanium. It uses 3M Precision Shaped Grain on a heavyweight polyester cloth backing, which allows the grain to fracture in a controlled way and stay sharp longer than conventional abrasive belts. The result is faster stock removal, less heat buildup, and more parts ground per belt. At 132 inches long and 3 inches wide with a 60 grit rating, this belt is sized for large-diameter or long-contact grinders common in metal fabrication and tool room environments.
This belt is intended for industrial metalworking applications including rough grinding, weld blending, and off-hand grinding on carbon steel, stainless steel, tool steels, high-nickel alloys, and titanium. A heat-resistant grinding aid built into the bond makes it particularly effective on heat-sensitive materials where conventional belts tend to glaze or burn the workpiece. It is well suited for dry off-hand applications and high-pressure machine grinding setups in fabrication shops, aerospace component shops, and tool and die operations.
Designed for use on belt grinders and grinding machines that accept 132-inch by 3-inch abrasive belts; suitable for carbon steel, tool steels, nickel alloys, and titanium workpieces.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified operator following the grinder manufacturer's guidelines for belt tensioning and tracking. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing belts. Inspect the contact wheel, platen, and belt tracking guides for wear before mounting a new belt. Ensure the arrow on the belt backing, if present, aligns with the intended direction of rotation.
