The 3M 7010327730 is a coated abrasive cloth belt engineered for high-pressure grinding and finishing on carbon steel, nickel alloys, tool steels, and titanium. It uses 3M Precision Shaped Grain on a heavyweight polyester cloth backing, producing a self-sharpening cut that maintains aggressive material removal over the life of the belt. At 72 inches long and 2 inches wide with a 24-grit coarse cut, this belt is built for rough stock removal where heat buildup and premature dulling are common failure points. A heat-resistant grinding aid is integrated into the construction to protect heat-sensitive alloys during extended grinding cycles.
This belt is suited for industrial metal fabrication shops, tool and die operations, and maintenance grinding applications. It performs on stationary belt grinders and inline grinder setups handling carbon steel weldments, nickel superalloys, and hardened tool steel workpieces. The coarse 24-grit rating targets initial stock removal and weld seam blending rather than finish grinding. It is appropriate for dry off-hand grinding as well as fixture-mounted high-pressure applications where belt wear rate is a primary productivity concern.
Designed for use on stationary and portable belt grinders accepting a 72-inch by 2-inch abrasive belt. Intended for use on carbon steel, tool steels, nickel alloys, titanium, and other high-temperature alloys.
Belt installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified operator following the machine manufacturer's guidelines. Disconnect and lock out all power to the grinder before changing belts. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the equipment specifications before resuming operation. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when handling coarse abrasive belts.
