The 3M 7010327725 is a coated abrasive cloth belt in the Cubitron II 967F series, designed for demanding material removal on carbon steel, nickel alloys, tool steels, and titanium. It features 3M Precision Shaped Grain on a heavyweight polyester backing, delivering consistent cut rates and extended belt life compared to conventional abrasive belts. The heat-resistant grinding aid built into the belt construction manages heat buildup during rough grinding of titanium and other heat-sensitive high-nickel alloys. Fabricators, tool and die shops, and metal finishing professionals install this belt for high-pressure grinding and off-hand finishing applications where belt longevity and cutting efficiency are critical.
This belt is suited for dry off-hand grinding and high-pressure stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in industrial and fabrication environments. Common applications include weld blending, surface conditioning, and aggressive material removal on carbon steel and tool steels. The heavyweight backing maintains integrity under sustained pressure, making it appropriate for both manual and machine-assisted belt grinding setups in production and job shop settings.
Designed for use on belt grinding machines and off-hand grinding setups that accept belts measuring 3.141 inches in length and 1.5 inches in width. Suitable for metalworking applications on carbon steel, tool steels, nickel alloys, and titanium.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Before mounting, power down and lock out the belt grinder per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify the belt tracking and tension per the equipment manufacturer guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for damage prior to each use and replace immediately if tears, delamination, or uneven wear are observed.
