The 3M 7010327456 is a full tapered cartridge roll designed for precision deburring, blending, and surface finishing in tight contours and hard-to-reach areas. Built on a durable X-weight cloth backing with resin bond construction, this roll delivers consistent heat resistance and extended service life under demanding stock removal conditions. It measures 0.5 inches in diameter at the base, 1.5 inches in length, and tapers to a 0.125-inch tip, allowing the roll to conform to slots, grooves, and curved surfaces. The abrasive mineral is aluminum oxide, a reliable general-purpose grain well suited to ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as some composite materials. The P120 grit rating places this roll in the fine finishing range, appropriate for light material removal and pre-finish surface prep.
This cartridge roll is used in die grinders and cartridge roll mandrels for both bench and portable applications. It is common in metalworking, fabrication, and maintenance-repair-overhaul environments where technicians need to finish contoured surfaces, blend welds in confined spaces, or clean up bore edges. The tapered profile makes it particularly effective in angled or stepped workpieces where a straight roll cannot reach the full contact surface. Sold in minimum quantities of 100 rolls per unit of measure.
Designed for use with standard cartridge roll mandrels in die grinders and rotary tools configured for tapered cartridge rolls of this size.
Installation is performed by trade machinists, metalworkers, and maintenance technicians using a compatible mandrel and die grinder. Ensure the mandrel is rated for the roll diameter and the grinder RPM does not exceed the roll's maximum rated speed. Secure the workpiece before operation and wear appropriate eye and hand protection per shop safety requirements. Inspect the roll for wear or separation before each use and replace when the abrasive surface is spent or the backing shows damage.
