The 3M 7010327356 is a ceramic abrasive belt engineered for aggressive material removal in demanding grinding and finishing applications. Part of the 3M 984F series, this belt features a closed-coat ceramic grain bonded to a heavy-duty YF-weight polyester cloth backing. The 36-grit, very coarse grade makes it well-suited for rapid stock removal on metal, weld seam grinding, and surface conditioning tasks. The coated abrasive construction delivers consistent cut rate and long belt life under both wet and dry operating conditions. At 0.05 pounds, the belt is lightweight but built to handle high-pressure contact on stationary and portable belt grinders.
This belt is sized at 2.5 inches wide by 60 inches long, fitting a common class of bench-top and pedestal belt grinders used in metal fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and industrial service environments. The 984F series ceramic grain is designed for use on ferrous metals, stainless steel, and high-strength alloys where aluminum oxide belts wear prematurely. Suitable for professional metalworkers, pipe fabricators, maintenance technicians, and tool-and-die operations requiring consistent aggressive cutting action across high-volume workloads.
Designed for use on belt grinders accepting a 2.5-inch x 60-inch abrasive belt. Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metal grinding, weld blending, and surface conditioning on stationary or portable belt grinder equipment sized for this belt format.
Belt installation should be performed with the grinder powered off and unplugged. Verify belt tracking direction arrows align with grinder rotation before tensioning. Confirm the belt grinder's platen and contact wheel are free of damage before mounting a new belt. Follow the grinder manufacturer's tensioning specifications and wear appropriate PPE, including a face shield, when operating abrasive belts at rated speeds.
