The 3M 7010327300 is an aluminum oxide coated abrasive belt built for metalworking on backstand grinders, file belt tools, and benchtop motors. At 132 inches long and 3 inches wide with a P220 grit rating, it is engineered for light grinding, finishing, deburring, and setting the grain on a range of metals. The J-weight cloth backing is flexible enough to conform to contoured surfaces and complex part geometries. Open coat construction keeps the belt surface clear of sanding dust, supporting a more aggressive cut and extending abrasive life. The resin bond system locks the aluminum oxide mineral firmly in place throughout the belt's service life.
This belt is suited for dry metalworking applications across ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It performs well on carbon steel and stainless steel and is also appropriate for soft metals including aluminum, brass, bronze, and copper. Typical use cases include finishing weld seams, blending surface defects, deburring edges, and establishing consistent surface grain on fabricated components. The combination of open coat construction and flexible backing makes it particularly effective where the belt must wrap around irregular profiles or work into tight contours.
Designed for use on backstand grinders, file belt tools, and benchtop motors requiring a 132-inch by 3-inch abrasive belt. Suitable for dry metalworking on carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, and copper.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified operator with the machine powered down and locked out per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the equipment manufacturer's specifications before operating. Inspect the belt for tears or separation at the splice before each use and replace immediately if damage is found. Always use appropriate eye and respiratory protection when operating abrasive belt equipment.
