The 3M 7010327299 is a coated abrasive belt built for metalworking applications where conformability and consistent finish quality matter. Constructed with aluminum oxide grain on a flexible J-weight cloth backing, this belt is designed for light grinding, finishing, deburring, and grain setting on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. At P150 grit, it sits in the finishing range, cutting fast enough to remove scratches while leaving a refined surface. The open coat construction and resin bond work together to extend abrasive life and reduce loading. Each belt measures 132 inches long by 3 inches wide.
This belt is intended for dry metalworking on carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, and copper. It performs well in fabrication shops and finishing departments where operators work contours, weld seams, and complex part geometries. The J-weight backing flexes enough to blend irregular surfaces without bridging. Typical equipment includes backstand grinders, file belt tools, and benchtop motors. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both production and maintenance grinding workflows.
Designed for use on backstand grinders, file belt tools, and benchtop motors in dry metalworking applications on carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, and copper.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified operator with equipment powered off and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout-tagout procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension before resuming operation. Confirm the belt size matches the machine specifications before mounting. Inspect the belt for damage before each use and do not exceed the equipment manufacturer's rated speed.
