The 3M 7010327219 is the Cubitron II 947A coated abrasive belt, engineered for fast, cool material removal on metal workpieces. It uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology, which slices through metal rather than gouging or plowing, producing a faster cut rate and a cooler grinding action compared to conventional ceramic abrasive belts. The belt measures 24 inches in length and 1/2 inch in width, features a 40-grit cut, and rides on an X-weight poly-cotton backing that provides flex during contouring and finishing passes. A built-in grinding aid reduces friction and minimizes heat buildup at the contact zone. Fabricators, weld grinders, and metalworking shops install this belt on handheld and stationary belt grinders.
This belt is optimized for low- to medium-pressure applications and performs on stainless steel, mild steels, and aluminum. It is suited for weld blending, surface preparation, deburring, and edge finishing in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and production grinding environments. The Precision-Shaped Grain construction allows the belt to stay sharp through extended use, delivering consistent cut rates over the life of the belt rather than degrading quickly as conventional ceramic grains do.
Designed for use on belt grinders and finishing machines that accept 24-inch by 1/2-inch abrasive belts; suitable for low- to medium-pressure grinding applications on stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminum.
Installation is performed by metalworking professionals or maintenance technicians familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing belts. Confirm the drive and idler wheels are clean and free of debris before seating the belt. Inspect belt tracking within the first few seconds of operation at low speed before applying workpiece pressure.
