The 3M 7010327061 is a Cubitron II 967A Type 27 flap disc engineered for medium-pressure grinding, weld leveling, and surface preparation on flat and contoured workpieces. Built with 3M Precision-Shaped Grain, the abrasive cuts faster and runs cooler than conventional alumina grains, reducing heat buildup at the workpiece surface. At 60 grit, it removes material aggressively enough for weld removal and deburring while leaving a finish suitable for paint preparation. The poly-cotton backing promotes controlled, even wear, and individual flaps break down progressively to expose fresh mineral throughout the disc life. Licensed trades and fabricators working mild steel and stainless steel use this disc on right-angle grinders.
The 7010327061 targets light-to-medium fabrication tasks including weld leveling, light deburring, and pre-paint surface preparation on mild steel. It is also well suited to stainless steel fabrication where gouge resistance and consistent finish quality matter. The Type 27 flat profile allows flush grinding on flat surfaces as well as access to contoured sections. This disc is packaged individually and is commonly used in production welding shops, metal fabrication facilities, and maintenance environments where both cut rate and disc longevity affect throughput.
Designed for use on right-angle grinders accepting 4.5-inch Type 27 flap discs. Suitable for mild steel and stainless steel applications requiring medium-pressure material removal or surface preparation.
This disc is installed by a qualified operator following the grinder manufacturer mounting instructions for Type 27 flap discs. Verify the grinder RPM rating meets or exceeds the disc maximum RPM before mounting. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not use a disc that shows delamination, torn flaps, or hub damage. Always wear appropriate PPE including face shield, gloves, and hearing protection during grinding operations.
