The 3M 7010327056 is the Cubitron II 967A flap disc, a Type 29 right-angle grinding disc engineered for medium-pressure material removal on flat and contoured surfaces. Built around 3M Precision-Shaped Grain, this disc delivers a fast, consistent cut rate throughout its service life. At 4 inches in diameter and 40 grit, it is well suited for weld leveling, light deburring, and surface prep ahead of paint or coating on mild steel and stainless steel. Fabricators and metalworkers reach for this disc when they need controlled stock removal without the gouging risk associated with fiber discs or bonded abrasive wheels.
This disc is intended for use in metal fabrication shops and field welding applications where surface finish quality matters. It performs on mild steel for weld removal and surface preparation, and on stainless steel where minimizing gouge marks is critical before finish work. The poly-cotton backing provides even, controlled wear under medium unit pressure, making it practical for both flat passes and contoured workpiece geometry. Individual flaps break down progressively, continuously exposing fresh abrasive mineral to maintain cut consistency from first use to last.
Designed for use on right-angle grinders accepting 4-inch flap discs. Suitable for mild steel and stainless steel fabrication applications requiring medium-pressure weld leveling, light deburring, and pre-paint surface preparation.
Installation and disc changes must be performed by a qualified operator with the grinder unplugged or locked out per standard OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify the grinder RPM rating meets or exceeds the disc maximum RPM before mounting. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and never operate a cracked or delaminated flap disc. Eye protection, hearing protection, and appropriate gloves are required during grinding operations.
