The 3M 7010327028 is a coated abrasive belt built for high-pressure grinding and finishing applications where standard aluminum oxide belts fall short. It uses an alumina zirconia mineral grain combined with a grinding aid to deliver faster cutting rates and longer belt life than conventional abrasives. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing is water-resistant and dimensionally stable under tension, making it well suited for sustained edge work and heavy stock removal. Licensed trade fabricators, metalworkers, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers and users of this belt.
This belt is designed for high-production grinding on a range of metal substrates, including aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, and other heat-sensitive alloys. The alumina zirconia grain runs cooler than aluminum oxide, reducing the risk of heat discoloration or warping on sensitive workpieces. Typical applications include weld seam blending, deburring, edge chamfering, and surface conditioning on wide-belt grinding machines. The 75-inch length and 36-inch width make it appropriate for large industrial platen or contact-roll setups.
Designed for use on wide-belt industrial grinding machines accepting belts measuring 75 inches in length and 36 inches in width. Verify machine drive-roller width and belt-tracking specifications before installation.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with wide-belt grinding equipment. Power down and lock out the machine before changing belts. Confirm belt tracking and tension according to the equipment manufacturer's guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or splice separation before each use.
