The 3M 7010327018 is an alumina zirconia coated abrasive belt engineered for high-production grinding and finishing applications. The 577F belt uses an alumina zirconia mineral with a built-in grinding aid that delivers faster stock removal and greater cutting efficiency than conventional aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing is water-resistant and built to withstand high-pressure contact and demanding edge work. This belt measures 60 inches in length and 8 inches in width with a 50 grit designation, making it suited for aggressive material removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Licensed trades and fabrication shop technicians are the primary installers and users of this product.
This belt is designed for use in metal fabrication, weld blending, and surface conditioning operations where consistent cut rate and belt longevity matter. The alumina zirconia grain runs cooler than standard abrasives, making it a reliable choice when working heat-sensitive metals such as aluminum and stainless steel. It fits wide belt sanders and platen grinders commonly found in production grinding environments. The 50 grit cut is appropriate for initial stock removal, weld seam grinding, and coarse surface prep before progressing to finer grits.
Designed as a coated abrasive replacement belt for wide belt sanders and platen grinders accepting a 60 inch by 8 inch belt configuration.
Belt installation and tensioning should be performed by a qualified operator following the machine manufacturer's guidelines. Disconnect and lock out all power to the sander or grinder before mounting or removing a belt. Inspect the belt for tears, edge damage, or moisture before use. Ensure tracking is adjusted properly before resuming production to prevent belt tracking failure or workpiece damage.
