The 3M 7010327013 is a coated abrasive belt built for high-pressure grinding, blending, and finishing applications in metal fabrication and industrial production environments. It uses alumina zirconia abrasive grain combined with a grinding aid to deliver faster cutting rates than standard aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing is water-resistant and engineered to handle edge work and sustained belt tension without delaminating or tearing. At 168 inches long and 4 inches wide with a 36-grit coarseness rating, this belt is suited for aggressive stock removal on large workpieces and production-scale operations. Licensed trade fabricators and metalworkers are the primary installers and users.
This belt is designed for use on wide belt sanders and industrial grinding machines handling metal substrates including aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, and other heat-sensitive alloys. The alumina zirconia mineral runs cooler than conventional abrasives, reducing the risk of heat discoloration or warping on sensitive materials. It is a strong fit for weld seam removal, surface preparation, and heavy deburring in fabrication shops, manufacturing facilities, and maintenance operations requiring consistent, high-volume material removal.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production abrasive belt for wide belt industrial sanders and grinders accepting 168-inch by 4-inch belts in metalworking and fabrication applications.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified machine operators or maintenance personnel following the equipment manufacturer's belt-change procedures. Confirm the machine is fully de-energized and the drive wheel has come to a complete stop before removing or mounting the belt. Verify correct belt tracking direction using the arrow printed on the belt's inner surface. Inspect the platen, contact drum, and idler wheels for wear or debris before mounting a new belt.
