The 3M 7010326517 is a PSA (Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive) cloth sanding disc designed for heavy-duty material removal in industrial and fabrication environments. The disc measures 36 inches in diameter and carries a 36-grit aluminum oxide abrasive, making it well suited for aggressive stock removal on metal, wood, and composite surfaces. The pressure-sensitive adhesive backing bonds securely to a backup pad or steel platen and releases cleanly when it is time to swap out worn discs. A resin bond system protects the abrasive layer from heat buildup, extending usable disc life through prolonged sanding cycles. Licensed tradespeople and industrial grinding machine operators are the primary installers and users of this disc.
This disc is built for both wet and dry sanding applications on large-format disc grinders and flat-platen machines that accept 36-inch PSA discs. The X-weight cloth backing handles aggressive pressure without tearing or developing edge wear, which matters on long production runs in metal fabrication shops, woodworking facilities, and floor-surfacing operations. The coarse 36-grit rating is most appropriate for initial material removal, weld grinding, or surface leveling before progressing to finer grits. Minimum order quantity is 10 discs per order.
Designed for use with large-format disc grinding machines and flat-platen sanders that accept 36-inch PSA-backed abrasive discs with a backup pad or steel platen mounting surface.
Installation and disc changes should be performed by qualified machine operators following the equipment manufacturer's safe operating procedures. Power down and lock out the grinder before removing or mounting any abrasive disc. Ensure the backup pad or steel platen surface is clean and free of adhesive residue before applying the new disc to achieve full adhesive contact. Do not exceed the rated maximum speed of 1800 RPM.
