The 3M 7010326389 is the 340D open-coat aluminum oxide cloth belt, engineered for aggressive stock removal in high-production sanding environments. Running at P120 grit, it delivers a consistent cut-rate on both wood and metal surfaces while resisting loading. The heavyweight cloth backing handles the stress of continuous wide-belt, edge, and portable belt sanding operations. A resin bond construction holds the abrasive grain under elevated heat and pressure, extending service life in demanding production runs. This belt is installed and operated by finishing carpenters, millwork shops, metalworking fabricators, and production woodworking facilities.
The 340D belt is suited for wide belt sanding machines, edge sanders, and portable belt sanders in both woodworking and light metalworking applications. The open-coat construction prevents premature clogging when working softer, resinous woods such as pine. The washable cloth backing allows the belt to be cleaned and reused when working high-loading substrates, reducing consumable cost per cycle in production environments. Typical applications include furniture manufacturing, cabinet shops, millwork production, and metal surface preparation.
Designed for use on wide belt sanders, edge sanders, and portable belt sanding equipment accepting a 60-inch by 37-inch belt. Suitable for sanding operations on wood and metal workpieces.
Install belt in the correct direction of travel as indicated by the arrow printed on the backing. Ensure the sanding machine is fully powered down and the platen or contact drum is at rest before changing belts. Verify machine tracking adjustment after installation to prevent belt wander or edge damage. Inspect belt seam and backing for damage before each use in high-production applications.
