The 3M 7010326314 is a coated abrasive belt engineered for demanding stock removal and metal finishing applications. It combines 3M Ceramic Abrasive Grain with aluminum oxide in a blend that cuts faster and lasts longer than conventional aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing is rated for high-pressure grinding and can be run dry or with a liquid lubricant. At 72 inches long and 3 inches wide with a 50-grit cut, this belt suits wide-belt and drum-sander setups common in metal fabrication and finishing shops. A built-in grinding aid limits heat buildup during stainless steel grinding, protecting the workpiece surface and extending belt life.
This belt is intended for metal stock removal, weld blending, and surface finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The ceramic-aluminum oxide grain blend performs especially well on stainless steel, carbon steel, and other heat-sensitive alloys where heat buildup can cause surface discoloration or workpiece damage. It is well suited to high-production environments where belt life and consistent cut rate directly affect throughput. Licensed metal fabricators, welding shops, and industrial maintenance machinists are the primary installers and users of this product.
Designed for use on wide-belt grinders, drum sanders, and contact-wheel machines that accept 72-inch by 3-inch abrasive belts in industrial metal fabrication and finishing applications.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified machine operators following the equipment manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the belt. Verify the belt arrow indicates the correct running direction before startup. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage prior to each use, and never exceed the maximum operating speed rating of the grinder.
