The 3M 7010326114 is a Trizact 217EA coated abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing applications in metalworking environments. It uses proprietary microreplication technology in which micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into precisely shaped pyramids and bonded to a JE-weight rayon cloth backing. As the pyramidal structures wear during use, fresh, sharp mineral is continuously exposed. This produces a consistent cut rate and a predictable, fine finish across the full life of the belt. The belt measures 60 inches in length and 1.5 inches in width, making it suitable for narrow-contact-wheel and file-belt grinding setups.
This belt is intended for light-pressure finishing work prior to plating or buffing operations on metal workpieces. The flexible JE-weight rayon backing conforms to contoured and profiled surfaces, allowing the abrasive to maintain consistent contact. The built-in grinding aid helps dissipate heat, reducing the risk of heat-related warping or discoloration on temperature-sensitive materials. Its predictable wear characteristics also make it well-suited for robotic and automated finishing lines where consistent output is critical cycle after cycle.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit abrasive belt for narrow-belt file sanders, contact-wheel grinders, and automated finishing machines configured for 60-inch by 1.5-inch belts.
Abrasive belt installation and replacement is typically performed by metalworking technicians or machine operators following equipment manufacturer guidelines. Before changing a belt, power down and lock out the grinder or file-belt machine per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension settings after installation before resuming production. Operate at the light pressures this belt is rated for to allow the microreplication structure to break down correctly and deliver its intended finish.
