The 3M 7010326110 Trizact 217EA is a microreplicated abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing on metal surfaces prior to plating or buffing. It uses aluminum oxide mineral formed into uniform pyramidal structures bonded to a JE-weight rayon cloth backing. As the pyramid tips wear, fresh cutting mineral is continuously exposed, delivering a consistent cut rate and a predictable finish from start to finish. At 73 inches long and 5 inches wide, this belt suits wide-stroke and robotic finishing applications where repeatability is critical.
This belt is used primarily in metalworking environments for finishing stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals where surface consistency must meet tight tolerances before a secondary operation such as plating, buffing, or coating. Its flexible rayon backing conforms to contoured and flat workpieces alike. The grinding aid built into the abrasive construction helps manage heat buildup, reducing the risk of heat-related discoloration or warping on temperature-sensitive parts. It performs best under light to moderate contact pressure, which allows the abrasive pyramids to break down progressively and maintain cut consistency throughout belt life. Robotic and automated belt grinding systems benefit from its long, predictable service life.
Designed for use on standard belt finishing machines and robotic grinding systems that accept 73-inch by 5-inch abrasive belts.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified operator following the machine manufacturer's guidelines for belt tensioning and tracking. Power down and de-energize the finishing machine before mounting or removing a belt. Inspect the belt for nicks, tears, or splice integrity before each use. Follow applicable ANSI and OSHA abrasive product safety standards for personal protective equipment and guarding.
