The 3M 7010326097 is a coated abrasive cloth belt engineered for light to moderate-pressure stock removal, blending, and scratch refinement on contoured and irregular surfaces. It uses a blend of 3M ceramic abrasive grain and premium aluminum oxide, delivering higher cut rates and longer service life compared to standard aluminum oxide belts. The flexible rayon backing conforms to curved workpiece profiles, maintaining consistent contact and finish quality across the stroke. An incorporated grinding aid reduces heat buildup at the contact zone, which is especially important when working stainless steel and other heat-sensitive exotic metals.
This belt is suited for fabrication shops, metal finishing operations, and maintenance environments where operators need a conformable belt that handles contoured tubing, pipe, structural shapes, and welded assemblies. It measures 60 inches in length and 1-1/2 inches in width, making it compatible with narrow-belt finishing machines and pipe-notching setups. The 80 grit designation positions it for aggressive material removal with a controlled finish suitable for blending welds or prepping surfaces before finer passes.
Designed for use on narrow-belt finishing machines, file belt sanders, and pipe-notching equipment that accept 60-inch by 1-1/2-inch abrasive belts. Recommended for ferrous metals, stainless steel, and exotic alloys.
A licensed or trained machine operator should install abrasive belts following the equipment manufacturer's tracking and tensioning guidelines. Confirm the machine is fully de-energized and unplugged before changing belts. Inspect the belt for cracks, tears, or splice defects before mounting. Do not exceed the maximum operating speed rated for the belt or the machine.
