The belt uses 3M proprietary microreplication technology, forming micron-graded aluminum oxide particles into uniform pyramidal structures. As the pyramids wear, fresh, sharp mineral is continuously exposed, delivering a consistent cut rate and a predictable fine finish throughout the life of the belt. A grinding aid is incorporated to reduce heat buildup and minimize the risk of workpiece warping or discoloration.
This belt is suited for intermediate stock removal and fine polishing steps prior to plating or buffing operations. Its flexible backing allows it to conform to contoured and complex surfaces, making it appropriate for both manual and automated finishing lines.
