The 3M 7010326044 is a coated abrasive belt designed for high-performance stock removal and metal finishing applications. It uses a blend of ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide, which cuts faster and lasts longer than conventional aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing supports high-pressure grinding and can be run dry or with lubricant. This belt is well suited for metalworking shops and fabrication environments where heat generation and belt life are primary concerns. At 40 grit, it is built for aggressive material removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including heat-sensitive alloys.
This belt is used in industrial and professional metal fabrication settings, including weld blending, deburring, and surface conditioning on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other metals. The grinding aid built into the bond helps manage heat during stainless steel applications, reducing the risk of surface discoloration or workpiece damage. It is commonly run on stationary belt grinders and backstand grinders in fabrication shops, production facilities, and maintenance operations.
Designed for use on belt grinders and backstand grinders that accept 48-inch by 2-inch abrasive belts in metalworking and fabrication applications.
Coated abrasive belts of this type are installed and serviced by metalworking and fabrication professionals. Before changing a belt, power down and lock out the grinder in accordance with OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension after installation and before resuming operation. Always confirm the machine's maximum belt speed rating is compatible with the abrasive belt specification before use.
