The 3M 7010325955 is a Trizact 237AA coated abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing in precision metalworking applications. It uses 3M microreplication technology, where micron-graded aluminum oxide mineral is formed into three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to an X-weight cloth backing. As the pyramids wear during use, fresh cutting edges are continuously exposed, delivering a consistent cut rate and predictable surface finish from start to finish. The flexible cloth backing allows the belt to conform to contours without loading or glazing, making it well-suited for automated and robotic finishing lines as well as manual operations.
This belt is used in metal finishing operations prior to plating or buffing, where surface consistency is critical. It performs in both manual and robotic grinding applications on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The microreplication structure produces finer, more uniform finishes than conventional electrostatically coated abrasive belts. Typical users include metal fabricators, aerospace component finishers, and industrial maintenance shops running continuous-duty belt grinders or finishing machines.
Designed for use on standard belt grinders and finishing machines accepting 24-inch by 1/2-inch abrasive belts. Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metal finishing applications where controlled surface finish is required prior to plating or buffing.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel following the belt grinder manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting or replacing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension per machine specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or damage before each use and replace immediately if the backing or abrasive layer shows signs of separation.
