The 3M 7010325929 is a coated abrasive belt designed for demanding stock removal and metal finishing applications. It uses a blend of ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide, a combination that cuts faster and outlasts traditional aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester backing handles high-pressure contact wheel and platen applications without breakdown. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup at the workpiece, making this belt well-suited for stainless steel and other heat-sensitive metals. It can be run dry or with a liquid lubricant depending on the application. Metalworking fabricators and maintenance machinists are the primary users.
This belt is used in industrial and shop metalworking environments where consistent stock removal and extended belt life are priorities. Typical applications include weld blending, surface conditioning, and finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The orange-colored belt runs on standard contact-wheel and slack-section belt grinders. The P150 grit rating positions it in the medium-fine finishing range, suitable for intermediate and final passes on metal surfaces where a consistent scratch pattern is required.
Designed for use on standard belt grinder and finishing machine setups that accept a 60 inch by 1.5 inch abrasive belt. Verify contact wheel diameter and platen clearance on the host machine before installation.
Install and change abrasive belts only with the grinder powered off and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm belt tracking and tension before returning the machine to service. Inspect the belt for tears or splice separation before each use. Do not exceed the rated operating speed of the belt or the machine.
