The 3M 7010325865 is a coated abrasive cloth belt engineered for demanding stock removal and metal finishing applications. It combines 3M Ceramic Abrasive Grain with aluminum oxide in a blend that cuts faster and lasts longer than conventional aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing handles high-pressure grinding without breaking down and can be run dry or with a lubricant. At 132 inches long and 2 inches wide with a 50-grit rating, this belt is suited to production-level work on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup, making it effective on heat-sensitive materials including stainless steel.
This belt is used in industrial and fabrication environments where consistent stock removal and extended belt life reduce downtime and changeover frequency. Typical applications include weld blending, surface conditioning, and rough finishing on metal workpieces. The 50-grit cut makes it appropriate for aggressive material removal before transitioning to finer finishing steps. It performs in both wet and dry setups, giving operators flexibility across different grinding configurations. Licensed trades and production grinding personnel working in metal fab shops, HVAC fabrication, and general manufacturing will find this belt suited to high-cycle production work.
Designed as a direct-fit coated abrasive belt for belt grinders and finishing machines accepting a 132-inch by 2-inch belt configuration. Confirm contact wheel diameter and drive drum size on the host machine before installation.
De-energize and lock out the belt grinder before mounting or removing any abrasive belt. Inspect the contact wheel, idler, and tracking mechanism for wear before installing a new belt. Ensure belt direction-of-travel arrows, if present, align with machine rotation. Follow applicable ANSI B11 machine tool safety standards and the grinder manufacturer's operating guidelines when tensioning and tracking the belt.
