The 3M 7010325698 is a marine-grade polyurethane adhesive sealant formulated for permanent, watertight bonding and sealing on boats and watercraft. It delivers exceptional bond strength both above and below the waterline, making it suitable for structural and semi-structural applications where a rigid adhesive would crack or separate under load. The sealant remains flexible after cure, allowing it to absorb stress caused by shock, vibration, hull flexion, and thermal expansion or contraction of dissimilar materials. It resists weathering, UV exposure, and saltwater immersion over extended service periods. Licensed marine technicians and boatyard professionals apply this product using a standard manual caulking gun.
This sealant is designed for a wide range of marine bonding and sealing tasks. Documented applications include bonding fiberglass deck to fiberglass hull, wood to fiberglass, porthole and deck fitting installation, mounting outboard and inboard motors on fiberglass transoms, sealing under moldings, hull seams above and below the waterline, centerboard trunk joints, connections between struts and planking, stern joints, and deck housing assemblies. It is well suited to both production boatbuilding and in-field repair work where a long-lasting, flexible seal is required.
Designed for bonding and sealing fiberglass-to-fiberglass, wood-to-fiberglass, and similar marine substrate combinations including deck fittings, hull seams, transoms, moldings, trunk joints, strut-to-planking connections, stern joints, and deck housing installations.
Application is performed using a standard manual caulking gun; the sealant remains workable with a trowel or spatula for approximately four hours after application, allowing time for tooling and cleanup. Surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of grease, wax, and loose material before application. Because this product forms a permanent bond, disassembly of bonded joints without damage is extremely difficult; confirm joint design and alignment before applying. Follow all vessel safety and confined-space ventilation practices when working in enclosed bilge or hull areas.
