The 3M 7010325459 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) abrasive disc designed for material removal and surface preparation on random orbital sanders. At 5 inches in diameter with a 60-grit aluminum oxide abrasive, this disc falls in the medium grade range and is well-suited for aggressive stock removal, paint stripping, and surface leveling on wood, metal, and composite materials. The gold-colored paper backing carries an F-weight designation, providing a balance of flexibility and support during use. Each pack contains 100 discs, making it a practical quantity for production-level shop work or regular field service.
This disc is intended for use with random orbital sanders equipped with PSA-style backing pads. The flexible paper construction conforms to moderate contours, making it useful in both flat and slightly curved surface applications. Typical users include finish carpenters, auto body technicians, metal fabricators, and general contractors who require consistent cut rate across high-volume sanding tasks. The disc includes 5 vacuum holes to support dust extraction when used with compatible dust-collection sanders, helping maintain a cleaner work surface and extending disc life.
Designed for use with random orbital sanders that accept 5-inch PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) backing pads with a 5-hole vacuum pattern. Verify that the sander backing pad uses PSA attachment before ordering; this disc is not compatible with hook-and-loop systems.
Disconnect or power down the sander before mounting or removing discs. Ensure the PSA backing pad is clean and free of debris before adhering the disc, as contaminants will reduce adhesion and cause disc slippage during operation. Peel the liner from the disc and apply firm, even pressure across the entire disc face when mounting to the pad. Discs that show signs of loading, glazing, or edge lifting should be replaced to maintain consistent cut rate and operator safety.
