The 3M 7010320985 is a multiple-wall, semi-rigid polyolefin heat shrink tubing designed for durable electrical insulation and strain relief in wiring harness and splice protection applications. It features a 2.5:1 shrink ratio and is co-extruded with a selectively cross-linked outer wall and an integral meltable inner wall. When heat is applied, the inner wall flows into voids and over irregular surfaces, creating a sealed, moisture-resistant bond. Each stick measures 48 inches in length with a 3/4-inch recovered diameter and is colored yellow for easy circuit or zone identification. Licensed electricians and experienced wiring technicians are the primary installers of this product.
This tubing is suited for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical applications where a sealed, semi-rigid sleeve is required over wire splices, terminals, connectors, and bus bars. The meltable inner wall makes it especially useful in environments exposed to moisture, vibration, or mechanical abrasion. Yellow coloring supports color-coded wiring organization on panel builds, automotive harnesses, and field-installed wire runs. It is supplied in 48-inch sticks, with a minimum case quantity of 45 pieces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use heat shrink sleeve for wire splices, terminals, and connectors requiring a dual-wall, sealed polyolefin sleeve in 3/4-inch recovered diameter applications.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified wiring technicians following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize all circuits completely before applying heat shrink tubing to any live or active wiring run. Use a calibrated heat gun set to the manufacturer-recommended temperature range for polyolefin tubing to ensure uniform shrink and full inner-wall melt without scorching. Do not use an open flame torch, as uneven heat distribution may prevent a proper seal or damage the tubing.
