The 3M 7010320536 is a gun-grade, latex-based elastomeric firestop sealant designed for use in tested and listed firestop systems. It cures upon exposure to the atmosphere to form a monolithic, flexible seal capable of providing up to 4-hour fire protection when installed as part of an approved system assembly. The sealant delivers 19% movement capability, supporting compression and extension in dynamic joint applications. It also functions as an acoustic barrier, achieving an STC rating of 56 when tested in an STC 56-rated wall assembly. Available in red, blue, or limestone, the material requires no mixing and is ready to use directly from the cartridge. Firestop contractors and licensed installers apply this product in commercial and residential construction.
This sealant is used to firestop construction joints and through-penetrations in fire-rated wall and floor assemblies. It is suited for applications where fire, smoke, and noxious gas containment are required by code. The product supports optional L-Rating requirements for smoke seal performance, meets International Building Code (IBC) requirements, and meets the intent of LEED VOC environmental regulations. It is packaged as a 28 fl oz cartridge and applied using a standard caulk gun, making it practical for field installation across a range of construction substrates.
Designed for use in tested and listed firestop systems addressing construction joints and through-penetrations in fire-rated wall and floor assemblies across a wide range of construction substrates.
Installation must be performed in accordance with a tested and listed firestop system design to achieve rated performance. Confirm that all penetrating items, substrate materials, and joint dimensions match the requirements of the applicable listed assembly before applying. Consult applicable building codes including the IBC and local fire codes for inspection and documentation requirements. Do not install over surfaces that are wet, frozen, or contaminated with oils or loose debris.
