The 3M 7010320049 is a flame-resistant heat shrink tubing sold on a 1000-foot spool, designed for wire and cable insulation, bundling, and environmental protection in electrical applications. Built on the same electrical, physical, and chemical property profile as standard FP-301 tubing, the FP-301VW variant adds superior flame resistance for installations where fire safety compliance is critical. The tubing has a nominal recovered inner diameter of 1/16 inch and is rated for continuous operation from -55 degrees C to 135 degrees C, withstanding brief elevated exposures up to 300 degrees C. Licensed electricians and instrumentation technicians are the primary installers.
This tubing is suited for residential and commercial electrical wiring, industrial control panels, wire harness fabrication, and marine or automotive environments where flame resistance is required. The 1/16-inch size targets small-gauge wire terminations, component lead insulation, and tight-tolerance bundle identification. The 1000-foot spool format supports production-volume or service-fleet use. The black color is standard for wire insulation and UV-exposed applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-use heat shrink tubing for electrical insulation and wire protection applications requiring flame-resistant polyolefin tubing in the 1/16-inch diameter range.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified instrumentation technicians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. Power down and de-energize all circuits before applying tubing to any conductor or termination. Use a heat gun calibrated to reach at least 100 degrees C to ensure complete and uniform shrink. Do not use an open flame for shrink activation, as uncontrolled heat can damage the tubing or adjacent components.
