The 3M 7010311953 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive transfer tape loaded with thermally conductive ceramic fillers, designed to create a reliable heat-transfer path between heat-generating components and cooling devices such as heat sinks, fans, heat spreaders, and heat pipes. No heat cure cycle is required — pressure alone forms a strong bond and effective thermal interface. The adhesive is modestly soft, allowing it to conform well to non-flat and irregular surfaces. It delivers both good thermal conductivity and electrical insulation properties, making it a practical solution for thermal management applications in electronics and industrial assemblies.
This tape is suited for applications where reliable heat dissipation is critical. It bonds to a wide range of substrates, including those with surface irregularities, thanks to its ability to wet and flow onto many surfaces. Typical installations include mounting power electronics, LED assemblies, circuit boards, and other heat-generating components to heat sinks or thermal management hardware. The roll format — 14 inches wide by 36 yards long — supports both high-volume production environments and job-specific cut-to-length use.
Designed as a thermal interface adhesive transfer tape for use between heat-generating electronic components and heat sinks, fans, heat spreaders, or heat pipes across a wide range of assembly and manufacturing applications.
Application is performed by pressing the tape firmly onto a clean, dry substrate surface — no adhesive activators or heat cure equipment are required. Ensure mating surfaces are free of oils, dust, and debris before application to maximize bond strength and thermal contact. Cut to size using appropriate tooling for the production or field environment. Follow applicable workplace safety guidelines when handling adhesive materials in enclosed spaces.
