The 3M 7010311926 is a gray, double-sided, pressure-sensitive, closed-cell acrylic foam tape sold in a 0.5-inch-wide by 72-yard roll. At 25 mil thick, it delivers a conformable bond that accommodates surface irregularities and slight gaps between mating parts. The tape features a paper liner for handling convenience and is designed for bonding high and medium surface energy substrates. It also provides cushioning, vibration damping, and impact resistance in the bonded joint. Plasticizer resistance keeps the bond stable when used near plasticized materials such as PVC or flexible polymers. This product carries UL listing 746C, making it suitable for applications where component tracking is required.
This tape is used across industrial, construction, HVAC panel assembly, electrical enclosure fabrication, and general trade applications where mechanical fasteners are not practical or desirable. It is well suited for attaching trim, gaskets, nameplates, and mounting components to metal, glass, and painted surfaces. The conformable foam core allows it to seal minor surface irregularities while maintaining a durable, long-term bond. Licensed trades including sheet metal workers, electricians, and general contractors commonly use VHB foam tape in panel and enclosure assembly work.
Designed for bonding high and medium surface energy substrates including metals, glass, and painted or coated surfaces in industrial and construction applications.
Surface preparation is critical — clean and dry the substrate thoroughly before application to achieve full bond strength. Apply firm, even pressure across the tape after positioning to ensure full contact between the adhesive and substrate. Allow adequate dwell time before applying load to the bond. No special tools are required, but a roller applicator is recommended for consistent pressure on longer runs.
