The 3M 7010311901 is an acrylic adhesive transfer tape engineered for high-strength bonding across a wide range of surface energy materials. Built on 3M High Performance Acrylic Adhesive 350, this tape measures 5.0 mils thick and delivers reliable adhesion to both high and low surface energy substrates, including powder-coated paints. The adhesive is fiber-reinforced to maintain roll stability in narrow widths and resist oozing during application. Mounted on a tan, 58-pound PCK (polycoated kraft) paper liner, the tape resists moisture absorption and minimizes liner wrinkling during handling and conversion. It is suitable for use in manufacturing, assembly, and fabrication environments where a clean, solvent-free bonding method is required.
This transfer tape is well-suited for bonding dissimilar materials, including combinations of high and low surface energy substrates, as well as surfaces with moderate texture or roughness. Typical applications include industrial assembly, signage, nameplate attachment, and light fabrication work where a transparent, low-profile bond line is needed. The acrylic adhesive chemistry provides excellent chemical resistance along with strong shear and peel performance, even when assemblies are exposed to elevated service temperatures. It is rated for short-term temperature exposure up to 450 degrees F and long-term service up to 300 degrees F.
Designed for bonding high and low surface energy materials including powder-coated paints and moderately rough surfaces in industrial assembly and fabrication applications.
Surface preparation is critical for maximum adhesion — clean bonding surfaces of oils, dust, and contaminants before application. Apply firm, even pressure across the tape after positioning to achieve full contact between the adhesive and substrate. When converting or cutting narrow widths, handle the liner carefully to avoid wrinkling, which can affect adhesive transfer quality. Follow applicable workplace safety guidelines for adhesive handling in confined or low-ventilation spaces.
