The 3M 7010311775 is an adhesive transfer tape built around 3M Adhesive 300, a high-strength acrylic formulation designed to bond to both high-surface-energy (HSE) and low-surface-energy (LSE) substrates, including textured surfaces and foam materials. The adhesive layer measures 5.0 mils thick and is carried on an 83-lb. polycoated kraft paper liner rated at 6.2 mils. That liner combination delivers strong lay-flat behavior and consistent unwind, making the tape well-suited for high-volume production environments where thin-caliper bonding with high initial tack is required. The roll is 12 inches wide and 180 yards long.
This transfer tape is used in fabrication and assembly operations where a thin, clean adhesive layer must be transferred from liner to substrate without adding bulk. Typical applications include bonding nameplates, gaskets, foam pads, and decorative panels in appliance manufacturing, consumer electronics assembly, and automotive interior components. Industrial sign fabricators and specialty converters also use this tape for mounting films and overlays to smooth or lightly textured surfaces. The high initial tack reduces the need for extended pressure dwell time during assembly.
Designed for bonding applications on HSE and LSE substrates including textured plastics, foams, metals, and smooth rigid panels across appliance, electronics, and automotive assembly industries.
Application is typically performed by technicians or production assemblers using hand rollers or laminating equipment to ensure full contact and uniform pressure across the bond area. Surface cleanliness is critical — substrates should be free of oils, dust, and release agents before tape application. For LSE substrates, consult the adhesive system requirements; surface preparation or primers may affect long-term bond performance. Store rolls flat or on-end away from heat and direct sunlight to maintain liner integrity and adhesive consistency.
