The 3M 7010310374 is a unitized abrasive wheel from the Standard Abrasives 700 Series, built for medium-to-heavy deburring, cleaning, and surface conditioning on metal. The wheel uses aluminum oxide mineral in a medium-to-hard density construction with an open web design that resists loading and extends service life. At 8 inches in diameter with a 5/8-inch arbor hole, it fits a range of stationary and bench-mounted tools. Licensed tradespeople and fabrication shop workers use it for tasks like removing punched-hole burrs on stainless steel, eliminating heavy flashing, and cleaning off weld discoloration and heavy scale.
This wheel is suited for mid-sequence and finishing applications on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel. Typical use scenarios include fabrication shops, weld cleanup operations, and metal prep before coating or inspection. The 700 Series positions above the 600 Series in density and edge durability, making it the appropriate selection when heavier-duty stock removal or aggressive cleaning is required. Attachment requires a unitized wheel mandrel, sold separately.
Designed for use with bench grinders, pedestal grinders, and similar stationary rotary tools that accept a 5/8-inch arbor mandrel; requires a compatible unitized wheel mandrel accessory for mounting.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive wheel safety standards, including ANSI B7.1 guidelines. Always power down and de-energize the machine before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and confirm the tool's rated RPM meets or exceeds the wheel's maximum speed rating. Never exceed the maximum operating speed marked on the wheel or its packaging.
