The 3M 7010310362 is a unitized non-woven abrasive wheel from the Standard Abrasives Silicon Carbide HP 500 Series, designed for light-pressure blending, finishing, and polishing on flat and contoured surfaces. At 6 inches in diameter, the wheel features a soft, conformable density that gives technicians and fabricators the finesse needed to work within tight tolerances. Silicon carbide mineral cuts efficiently across ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, exotic alloys, titanium, and composites. The open web construction resists loading, extending service life and reducing the risk of surface contamination from smearing or melted material.
This wheel is suited for metalworking and fabrication applications where fine surface finishing or blending is required without removing excessive base material. It performs on both flat and contoured workpieces, making it a practical choice in aerospace, general manufacturing, and job-shop environments. The wheel runs in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions, allowing compatibility with a wider range of power tools and machines. It attaches to a tool spindle via a unitized wheel mandrel, which is sold separately.
Designed as a center-hole unitized wheel that mounts to a unitized wheel mandrel (sold separately); suitable for use with standard right-angle grinders and bench-mount tools that accept 6-inch unitized wheels.
Installation should be performed by qualified operators familiar with abrasive wheel safety per ANSI B7.1 guidelines. Inspect the wheel for damage before mounting and verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the rated RPM of the wheel. Power down and de-energize the tool completely before mounting or removing the wheel. Never use a wheel that shows signs of cracking, distortion, or excessive wear.
