The 3M 7010310159 is a convolute deburring and finishing wheel designed for edge deburring, flat surface deburring, and fine finishing on manufactured parts. It is constructed by winding an open web of abrasive grain, nylon fibers, and resin around a rigid core. The open web structure resists loading, keeps abrasive mineral exposed and sharp, and allows swarf and debris to clear the work surface during operation. Measuring 6 inches in diameter by 0.5 inches wide with a 1-inch arbor hole, this wheel is sized for bench grinders and pedestal grinding stations used in production and job shop environments.
This wheel is well suited for medium to heavy burr removal on parts with heavy edges, including turbine blades and precision machined components. It is also used for machine mark and belt mark blending, as well as fine finishing on close-tolerance parts such as surgical instruments and medical device components. The hard density rating of 10S Fine allows it to maintain wheel shape under edge pressure, making it a reliable choice for repetitive production deburring where consistent cut rate and wheel life are critical factors. Metal fabricators, machinists, and precision finishing technicians are the primary users of this wheel.
Designed for use on bench grinders and pedestal grinders with a 1-inch arbor, compatible with standard machine spindle setups used in metal fabrication, aerospace component finishing, and precision machining applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding equipment operator following the machine manufacturer's spindle speed rating — never exceed the maximum RPM marked on the wheel. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and confirm the arbor bore fits the spindle without forcing. Always use the appropriate flange hardware specified for convolute wheels on your equipment.
