The 3M 7010310099 is a Surface Conditioning FE Disc engineered for edge work, deburring, blending, and coating removal across a broad range of metal types. Built on a flexible FE substrate, it carries an Aluminum Oxide abrasive grain that delivers high initial cut rate and maintains extended cut performance under sustained use. At 7 inches in diameter with a maximum operating speed of 6000 RPM, this disc is suited for both flat and contoured surface work. Licensed trades and fabrication professionals working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals will find this disc effective where consistent stock removal and finish quality are required in a single pass.
This disc is designed for general metalworking applications including blending weld seams, removing coatings, light deburring, and surface finishing on sheet metal, structural steel, and fabricated components. Its flexible FE backing allows it to conform to contoured surfaces, making it practical for work that a rigid disc cannot reach cleanly. The Very Fine grade designation targets finishing and blending stages rather than heavy stock removal. It attaches via Hook and Loop, allowing fast disc changes without tools during production or service work.
Designed for use with 7 inch Hook and Loop right-angle grinders and disc pads compatible with that attachment system. Most efficient on ferrous materials, and suitable for use on non-ferrous metals as well.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the grinder powered off and unplugged or battery removed. Verify the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 6000 RPM rated maximum before mounting the disc. Inspect the Hook and Loop backing pad for wear before attaching the disc, as a worn pad can cause disc separation during operation. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating abrasive discs.
