The 3M 7010310006 is a non-woven surface conditioning belt designed for controlled material removal and surface finishing across a range of metal and composite substrates. Built on a durable cloth and polyester scrim backing, it delivers moderate stretch resistance that keeps the belt tracking consistently on stationary and portable belt sanders. At 118 inches long and 4 inches wide, it fits standard wide-belt and stroke-sander configurations common in metal fabrication and finishing shops. Resin bonding holds the non-woven nylon fiber matrix together through extended run cycles. The open-web construction resists loading, which extends abrasive service life compared to coated alternatives.
This belt is suited for surface conditioning work on stainless steel, brass, aluminum, and similar substrates where the goal is finishing or blending without aggressive stock removal. The springy nylon fiber construction conforms to workpiece geometry, making it useful for maintaining flat surfaces and consistent finish patterns. Typical applications include weld blending, oxide removal, and pre-polish prep in light industrial and fabrication environments. It is sold individually (each) with a minimum order quantity of 5 units per purchase.
Designed for use on standard belt finishing and surface conditioning machines accepting 118-inch by 4-inch non-woven abrasive belts. Suitable for use on stainless steel, brass, aluminum, and similar metal substrates as stated by the manufacturer.
Belt installation and replacement should be performed by qualified operators following the equipment manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the machine before changing the belt. Confirm correct belt tracking and tension before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or delamination prior to each use and replace if damage is found.
